About Rockbridge FriendsGiving

Rockbridge FriendsGiving was created to bring our community together around one simple idea: we are all in this together.

This event gathers local organizations, community partners, volunteers, and neighbors to share fellowship and a warm meal during the Thanksgiving season. It is a time to pause, give thanks, and support one another while celebrating the spirit of community that makes Rockbridge such a special place.

Rockbridge FriendsGiving is for everyone. Whether you come to enjoy a meal, volunteer your time, or simply connect with others, we are glad you are here.

Our goal is not only to serve a meal, but to let our community members know we care about them.

Our Mission

Rockbridge FriendsGiving exists to strengthen our community by bringing people together through fellowship, kindness, and shared gratitude.

Through collaboration with local organizations, businesses, and volunteers, we work to ensure that every neighbor who wishes to participate can experience the warmth of a shared meal and community connection during the Thanksgiving season.

Feed the Need Foundation

Rockbridge FriendsGiving is an endeavor operating under the umbrella of Feed the Need Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Feed the Need Foundation recognizes needs within communities and develops and implements programs to meet those needs while fostering goodwill in others. We work by, with, and through local communities to support physical needs through food, intellectual needs through books, and emotional needs through toys and encouragement for those who need a hand up.

At Feed the Need Foundation, Inc., we believe that every need matters, whether it is food for the table, a book to inspire young minds, a toy to bring joy, or the comfort of knowing someone cares. We are guided by compassion, respect, and the belief that every person, regardless of circumstance, deserves dignity, support, and hope.

Each of our initiatives is important. Our work includes school food pantries, Lending Libraries, Thanksgiving meal boxes, and the Rockbridge FriendsGiving community Thanksgiving meal. We also lead our signature toy drives, Fill the Fence and Truckin’ for Toys. Beyond these efforts, we are honored to bring encouragement to pediatric patients through special visits and our Christmas in January program, and we host events throughout the year for children facing health battles or life’s toughest challenges.

We also maintain ongoing relationships with group homes for young adults with special needs, offering consistent support, shared joy, and meaningful connection throughout the year, especially through our Sparkles of Love endeavor.

Operated entirely by volunteers, Feed the Need Foundation serves with humility, heart, and hands on action. We work by, with, and through our communities because lasting change begins when we come together.

Feed the Need Foundation envisions a world where each of us steps up because it all begins with us. We are committed to offering hope, compassion, and support to individuals and families during times of need. We strive to be a beacon of light in our communities, fostering a culture of giving and mutual respect. Our goal is to create sustainable programs that address immediate needs while also empowering individuals for a brighter future, ensuring that no one feels alone or forgotten.
